The e-waste regulations in Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island will include additional products from 1 August 2021.
In February 2021, the Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador announced several new products which will fall in scope from 1 August 2021. Products to fall in scope of the Waste Management Regulations from 1 August 2021 include:
Fax machine drum scanners
Laptop Docking Stations
External hard drives
Handheld video game systems
GPS or other navigation systems designed specifically for use in a vehicle

In April 2021 the PEI Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action announced that the product scope of the Materials Stewardship and Recycling Regulations will be expanded from 1 August 2021. New products to fall in scope are mainly small appliances including:

Producers should check whether any of their products fall within the new product scopes in Newfoundland and Labrador and PEI. If their products do fall in scope, producers (stewards) may be required to pay EHFs to the EPRA as per the fee lists linked above depending on sales arrangements.
