The new “Open Scope” in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive applies to all types of products from August 2018. Please watch the webinar below to find out if your company is ready to comply with the recycling requirements.
Did you know:
- All types of products are in scope from August 2018 and will fall into one of six categories defined in Annex 3 of the WEEE Directive, unless the product is explicitly excluded under Article 2 of the WEEE Directive
- The timelines for compliance with the new WEEE Directive product categories are different across EU Member States. For example, the new product categories have already been implemented in Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia.
- All products which fall in scope in Germany for the first time under the new definitions must be registered by 15 August. Products which were already registered in Germany will be automatically transferred into the new categories, but these must be reviewed by the producer to confirm they are correct.
